교수님 소개 introdution

1999년 University of Cincinnati에서 "Study of Mercury Kinetics and Control Methodologies in Simulated Combustion Flue Gases"라는 논문제목으로 박사학위를 받으셨으며, 그 후 2년간 같은 곳에서 Research Assistant Professor 그리고 Adjunct Assistant Professor로 근무하셨습니다. 귀국 하신 후 한국과학기술연구원(KIST) 환경공정연구부에서 선임연구원으로 근무하시다가 2002년 연세대학교 화공생명공학과로 부임하셨습니다. 2004년 청소년이 가장 닮고 싶은 과학자로 선정된 교수님께서는 학자로서 또한 공학도로서 실질적으로 대기 및 수질에 존재하는 수은을 제거하는 기술개발에 몰두하셨습니다. 그 결과 2005년 “광촉매를 이용한 중금속 처리장치 및 방법”, 2007년 “다기능성 실리카 약물 전달체 및 이의 제조방법”, 2013년 “수은 함유 폐기물의 처리방법” 등을 특허로 등록하셨고, 다수의 논문을 발표하셨습니다. 현재 다양한 방법으로 제조된 TiO2 평판 코팅의 원소수은 제거 효율 연구, 배가스로부터 원소수은 및 산화수은을 흡착하는 sorbent trap 효율 개선연구, 스마트폰 등에 존재하는 미량중금속 연구를 수행하고 있습니다. 그리고 위와 같은 연구기술과 경험을 바탕으로 하여 새로운 화장품이라는 새로운 연구 분야를 개척하고 계십니다. 화장품과 관련된 모든 분야를 총괄적으로 정리하여 국내 화장품 시장과 국제적인 동향을 파악한 데이터를 근거로 (1) 화장품 제형 및 현상 연구, (2) 화장품 기능성 소재 안정화 연구, (3) 활성물질 탐색 및 효능에 관한 연구를 수행하고 있습니다. 또한 연세대학교 의대와 함께 비소를 먹인 쥐의 수정체, 혈액, 털에 있는 중금속을 분석하고 있는 연구를 진행 중에 있습니다.
